Depression

Many find depression to be a very sensitive topic to touch on but, only when spoken out aloud can it liberate the one suffering from it. out of the 7.5 billion people who exist on earth around 264 million people suffer from depression. Now yes, that is a lot of people! and not many are willing to express it because it is considered a big taboo for some reason. Depression is not a petty, minor problem that will go away on its own, it is also not a 'phase' that will just dissolve like adolescence. Infact, depression leaves a long lasting impact in one's life and in worse cases death. The amount of people who have solely died due to depression is about 800,000 people all over the globe! hence, it must not be denigrated. Well this is a major question that keeps arising 'What must one do when they know that they're suffering from depression?' The biggest and most difficult step is to reach out to someone and talk, it could be anyone that the individual finds comfort, strength and love in. Take medication if it is severe, learn to accept yourself for you don't compare yourself with others, take constant breaks to rejuvenate, lastly, write your emotions on a diary or journal so, that they can get a form to be expressed. Just as life has ups and downs, so does recovery it all gets better over time! and trust me, you matter more than you seem to be and there are many people who love, value and support your existence! and remember that I am proud and love you for battling your way through all the obstacles!! stay safe :)
